Tattoo Design 1

Before anyone complains, I will give a warning. This is a depiction of the Mayan Creation Myth, and yes, that is a tree shooting out of a man's chest. Get over it.

Ok, I drew this a few months ago. After watching "The Fountain" a few too many times, and doing my research paper on the Maya, the Tree of Life and Xibalba, I designed this tattoo, which I plan to get sometime soon. It is going to be big, and this is just a concept, but it gets the basic idea out.

My plan is to have First Father, the Mayan Glyphs, the turtles supporting the world and the very bottom of the tree trunk in black and white, like a stone carving. The rest is going to be in vivid, realistic detail. It is a Bayan Tree I used (I think that's how it's spelled), and the world needs to be made more realistic. I might go for more of an idea of leaves rather than separate leaves with shading and such on every single one. It will probably take two sessions to do anyway.

But yes, I want to get this for my twentieth birthday. However, if Mikara Falling gets accepted for publication before then, I am getting a tattoo to commemorate that first, and will hold off another year on this one. I love it to death though!!!!!

Hopefully I'll be able to find someone locally who can pull this one off. I know of one guy that could, definitely, but he has a five month waiting list on tattoos. Damn.

But yeah, I'll keep looking. Give critiques!!! Anything! I want to know what you guys think!
